This is really sad to see. I hated seeing Fury go down. If Gold Coast are to stay in the competition they are gonna need a new squad, so for everyone its best if a decision is made soon. I really hope they don't fold but its looking more and more likely by the minute. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Perth Glory Close In On Chris Harold? EXCLUSIVE: Exciting Gold Coast United striker Chris Harold is close to signing for Glory with the WA club admitting the Perth-born rising star is a player of interest.Have your say.

So long as you use 'em... The only thing I don't know about this signing is, if you're going to have Smeltz and Mehmet already (and currently we use only 1 if we play the normal 4-2-3-1) and then you have Makeche in the background, where does Harold fit in? Won't he just become another Taggart - no game time, leaves to go somewhere else?
The true fan ridicules the bandwagoner. The true fan blames the lesser fan for demanding entertainment. The true fan blames other true fans for daring to criticise their club or FFA. The true fan wonders why, after all is said and done, he is attending a match alone.

Dodd's on his last legs, and Andrezinho"s form the last few weeks has been so-so. And Sterjovski's gone. No, I think it's a great signing for Perth. Makarounas OTOH is a striker, and would be in line behind the starting pair. But he's only 17-18, his time will come.

well said the thupercoach, spot on with your comments. he will be utized as a wide player with speed to burn. Even if he is used as an impact player in his first season.

Heck, I'd like him at my club ... maybe we'll get Halloran. Feel bad for GC, but unfortunately it looks like GCU will be gone.

I still see McGarry as a better option creating from a central pairing with a defensive mid rather than in the advanced 'in the hole' position. In which case someone like Makarounas or Harold could play in the 'Cahill' position, which to me can be equally suited to an attacking midfielder or creative forward. Or as has been pointed out, there is plenty of opportunity to fill a wide position next season - I'd even consider Smeltz as wide-forward with just one out-and-out winger, which could potentially be Harold?

Just remember Ferguson has openly said he wants to two quality players for each position. That has a squad of 22 and one final spot for the 23 registered players allowed by FFA

If so, that's a mighty fine team right there.

Who would want Harold? Showed not much. Other GCU players are more desirable
