STRIKER Lloyd Owusu says the prospect of Champions League football and a two-year deal are hugely attractive as he mulls over a move to Adelaide United.

The 32-year-old forward is currently on the books of fourth tier club Cheltenham Town but spent a chunk of the campaign on loan to Brighton and Hove Albion - helping them avoid the drop.

Owusu, who has also called Reading, Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday home during his career to date, wants Albion to offer him a two-year deal with Cheltenham unlikely to keep him.

However, he admits a switch Down Under is tempting and he doesn't want to leave his next move dragging on for weeks and months.

He told the Brighton Argus: I've been offered a two-year deal by Adelaide, so that is something I am mulling over. Obviously it is far away but I have got to look at longevity now.

"They wanted me on trial originally but they have done their homework on me and now they want me to lead them forward.

"They are in the Asian Champions League next season, so that is a massive factor. If I did decide to go out there I would be playing in front of 40 to 50,000 people in Japan which would be nice, especially coming towards the end of my career."

Owusu admits his first choice would be to remain in England though and it remains to be seen if Brighton step in and make him the offer he wants.
