LIECHTENSTEIN club FC Vaduz were relegated from the Swiss Super League after suffering a 3-1 defeat away to Bellinzona.
Mauro Lustrinelli scored in the third and 19th minutes to set Bellinzona on the way to three points, and Alessandro Ciarrocchi contributed a further goal after 23 minutes.
Fakhreddine Guelbi responded a minute later for Vaduz, however their survival chances were slim before the match and defeat left them trailing second-bottom Lucerne by nine points, with only two matches to play.
FC Sion jumped out of the relegation play-off zone, climbing above Lucerne, thanks to a 1-0 home win over Neuchatel Xamax, secured by Virgile Reset's seventh-minute goal.
Further up the table, third-placed Young Boys moved to within two points of Basle, who occupy second place, with a 1-0 victory away to Aarau.
Seydou Doumbia pounced for the only goal of the game after 50 minutes, before Young Boys had David Degen sent off in the closing stages.
