Juventus have agreed to sell Sweden defender Olof Mellberg to Olympiacos for 2.5million euros, the Italian club confirmed today.
Mellberg, 31, joined Juve last summer as a free agent from Aston Villa and made 27 Serie A appearances for the Turin giants.
"After one season, Juventus salute Olof Mellberg," read a statement on the club's official website, www.juventus.it.
"The Swedish defender leaves the Bianconeri to join Greek club Olympiacos on a permanent transfer for a 2.5million euros fee."
Juve, who finished as Serie A runners-up behind Inter Milan, bolstered their defence last month by re-signing veteran centre-back Fabio Cannavaro from Real Madrid.
