MELBOURNE Victory have moved to bolster their attacking options in the wake of Danny Allsopp's departure by bringing in Thailand striker Sutee Suksomkit as a guest player.
Following the club reaching agreement with Costa Rican, Marvin Angulo last week, coach Ernie Merrick has looked to further bolster his attacking stocks by introducing Suksomkit as a guest player.
The 31 year-old from Singapore club Tampines Rovers will join Melbourne in early October, subject to a medical, visa and approval from Football Federation Australia, and will have the capacity to play a maximum of nine games in a guest player role.
The striker, who has represented Thailand on 60 occasions, scoring 16 goals for his country, will assist in replacing Danny Allsopp, who earlier this month departed to play in Qatar with Al-Rayyan Sports Club.
"Sutee is an experienced, quality player who we've been watching for quite some time. His credentials at international level are impressive and we believe he will be a good fit in our offensive structure" Melbourne Victory Football Operations Manager Gary Cole said.
"He's a left footer, which brings a different dimension to our attacking options and will not doubt have a very good playing partnership with Surat Sukha, given they've played alongside each other in the Thai National team since 2008.
"As with Marvin, we're hoping to get him to Australia as soon as we can to complete his medical. We can then prepare him for his first game for Melbourne Victory, which is likely to be October 24th against Adelaide United at Etihad Stadium."
