Rumours about David Carney exiting the A-League refuse to die down, after the player himself says that a move is on the cards.

Carney has admitted he has offers on the table, and the lure of more regular football is attractive. Like former Newcastle Jet Nick Carle, Carney believes that A-League football does not provide him with enough game time as he attempts to become a Socceroo regular ahead of the 2010 World Cup.

"I love Sydney and I love being home, but I feel to become a more professional footballer, maybe I need to take one of these offers,'' he said.

"I haven't really made up my mind what to do. I'm still considering my options. I'm signed for another two years with Sydney and I'm happy to stay with Sydney.

"I'd probably know by maybe mid-July and definitely by the end of July. I want to be playing football regularly, playing a lot of games. The only downfall of Sydney is you're playing in about 20 games and having six months off.

"At 23, I feel like I'm wasting myself in ways.''

Sydney FC CEO George Perry is already on the record however, saying that he believes playing in a European league do not necessarily offer an advantage when it comes to Socceroo selection.

Carney is currently in Singapore training with the Socceroos.
