FORMER Socceroos coach Graham Arnold has raised the possibility of an Australia recall for shamed 'keeper Mark Bosnich.

Bosnich has been training with UK Championship side Queens Park Rangers in a bid to get back to full fitness and a place in a top flight side once more.

After successful spells with Chelsea and Manchester United, his career came crashing down when he fell out of favour and was caught in a drugs scandal.

Now though he is working hard to get back into the game again.

And Arnold has refused to rule out a possible recall to the national team if he succeeds.

"I know it sounds amazing but he is special," he told The Sun newspaper in the UK. "Who knows whether it would ever be possible.

"But if anyone can do it, it would be him because he has that much natural ability. He is only 35 and the goalkeeping department in the national team is open."

Arnold added: "You have to remember that at his prime he was one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

"But what I will say about Bozza is I have known him since he was a kid and the guy is obsessive in everything he does.

"When I played with him and knew him as a youngster, he was the most professional and dedicated person."

Bosnich still believes there is a future for him in football and has shed much of the weight he gained while on drink and drugs binges.

"The most important thing now is my present and my future, although I'm not going to go begging people for a contract," he said.

"I know I'm close to full fitness and I know I can do a job at the top level still."
