Sydney FC have parted company with Branko Culina and are reportedly lining up Socceroo assistant coach John Kosmina to take over before the end of the week.

After a run of poor performances and mounting speculation that his job was in jeopardy, au.fourfourtwo.com can confirm that Sydney FC have parted company with coach Branko Culina.

"We have parted and it was amicable," said Sydney FC chairman Andrew Kemeny, after emerging from a board meeting this afternoon. "He agreed to parting of the ways. It is not a knee-jerk reaction – it was a decision made with careful consideration."

With the A-League "glamour" side picking up only one point in the last three matches, it seems as though the Sydney board were keen to make changes before the side drifted too far from a finals spot.

Despite rumours that former Adelaide United coach John Kosmina has already been lined up for the job of head coach, Kemeny stressed that "we hadn't spoken to anyone" about the position.

Keep your eyes peeled on au.fourfourtwo.com for more news on this developing story throughout the evening.
