Paris St Germain finally recorded their first home win of the season as some tactical mastery from coach Paul Le Guen saw them storm to a 3-0 victory against fellow strugglers Lens.

Second-half substitute Pedro Pauleta gave the hosts the lead four minutes after coming off the bench before fellow substitute Amara Diane grabbed two goals in as many minutes to settle the contest.

PSG's great rivals Marseille went down 3-1 at Rennes.

Djibril Cisse put OM ahead after 16 minutes but Mickael Pagis equalised six minutes before the break.

The game changed when Marseille had Juan Krupoviesa sent-off midway through the second half.

The hosts took full advantage of their numerical advantage and two late goals from Sylvain Wiltord settled the contest in Rennes' favour.

Lyon extended their advantage at the top of the table to six points on Saturday with a 3-2 win over Toulouse.

Anthony Reveillere's own goal gave Toulouse a ninth-minute lead before Hatem Ben Arfa, Juninho and Karim Benzema put Alain Perrin's side in charge.

Alves Felix Fabinho grabbed a late consolation but it was of little use to the visitors.

Second-place Nancy lost ground on the leaders after being held to a goalless draw at Caen.

Rock-bottom Metz were seconds away from only their second win of the campaign but they were eventually held to a 1-1 draw at fellow strugglers Lille.

Daniel Gygax put the visitors ahead in the 24th minute and it looked like Metz would hang on despite Sebastien Bassong's sending off until Yohan Cabaye's free-kick five minutes into stoppage time ensured the spoils were shared.

Bordeaux lie third, level on points with Nancy, following a 4-1 thrashing of lowly Auxerre.

Daniel Niculae gave Auxerre a surprise lead after just two minutes but a Fernando Cavenaghi brace, along with goals from David Bellion and Marc Planus gave Laurent Blanc's side the points.

Valenciennes continued their good home form with a 2-0 win over St Etienne, Geoffrey Doumeng and Gregory Pujol with the goals to send VA fourth.

Struggling Sochaux grabbed a much-needed win at Le Mans thanks to goals from Mevlut Erding and Michael Isabey although their victory was tarnished late on when Stephane Dalmat was given his marching orders after being shown a second yellow card.

Massamba Lo Sambou's last-minute strike gave Monaco the points against Lorient in a 1-0 victory and Nice beat Strasbourg by the same scoreline thanks to Ederson's second-half strike.
