EXCLUSIVE: Robbie Middleby will almost certainly miss the clash with Houston Dynamo, with unknown Ryan Walsh tipped to take his place.

Walsh is the only new name in the Sydney FC squad for the PPC, but the 22-year-old has impressed coach John Kosmina.

“Ryan actually works with the club. He assists with the kit, he does some study and plays for NSW premier league side Blacktown Demons,” he told au.fourfourtwo.com.

“I just got him to join in training to make up the numbers a few weeks ago and was quietly impressed with how he went about his business. He's a great character.

“He was coming over here anyway because of the requirements of his job. He's a natural right back as well who can plug gaps left and right side. A great way to make your debut for Sydney FC!”

Middleby re-injured his hamstring on Monday night and trained gingerly during Tuesday morning's light session on Waikiki beach.

However, Kosmina speculated Middleby may be fit for Saturday night's match, opening up the possibility of a return encounter with David Beckham and LA Galaxy.
