Amauri Sees Future In Italy
PALERMO forward Carvalho Amauri insists his future is in Italy despite his agent confirming the player is a target of major European clubs.
The highly rated Brazilian striker has been strongly linked with a move to Juventus this summer while AC Milan and Real Madrid are also keen to acquire his services."That Real Madrid could be interested in me makes me proud," said Amauri."But I see my future more in Italy than abroad.
"I have been here nine years an I see that the top teams in Italy want me.
"To join a top team in Italy would be fantastic. I want to experience what it is to win the scudetto, to fight to achieve that and the Champions League. That is what I would like to experience."
The 27-year-old is Palermo's top scorer this season with 15 league goals.
Palermo have placed a 25 million euro price tag on Amauri, who is under contract with the Sicilian outfit until June 2011 and is in the process of acquiring his Italian citizenship.
"All the top European clubs have shown an interest in the player," said Amauri's agent Mariano Grimaldi. "It's clear that he is the player of the moment."
