QUEENSLAND Roar will take on Brazilian top flight team Palmeiras in an exhibition match in July at Suncorp Stadium, the club has revealed.

The match has been scheduled for July 12.

Palmeiras, one of the biggest clubs in Brazil, has won 22 Sao Paulo State Championships and six national league titles.

Palmeiras has also claimed the Brazil Cup, Brazilian Champion's Cup and racked up a total of 62 honours since 1914.

"We're expecting a very positive response from the football supporting public and can't wait to get the ball rolling in relation to events during the week leading up to the exhibition match," said Queensland Roar CEO Lawrence Oudendyk.

Melbourne Victory will battle Italian giant Juventus on May 30, and Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix both played a Los Angeles Galaxy side last year which featured superstar David Beckham.
