MARK Schwarzer's new Fulham colleague Andranik Teymourian is promising further heartache for the Socceroos should Australia and Iran cross paths in the coming months.

Teymourian has wasted no time in reopening the wounds of Australia's last-gasp World Cup qualifying exit in 1997 when Iran advanced on away goals to the 1998 World Cup at Australia's expense.

He told the Iranian Student News Agency that he had already mentioned the painful episode to Schwarzer.

He said: "I told him that if we play Australia again, the same disaster that Azizi brought for them will be repeated."

Aside from trying to wind up Schwarzer, the former Bolton Wanderers man is enjoying life at his new club.

He played 45 minutes in a recent friendly against Celtic and said: "I think I played well in that game as well and we could go ahead with two goals after Danny and me had entered the game. After that game (Roy) Hodgson was happy with my display."

"I have been wearing number six in the training session and the friendly matches, most likely I'll be wearing the same number in the EPL. This number is a special one."

Fulham followed up their Celtic win with a 1-0 defeat last night against Busan I'Park. The Iranian was in the starting line-up but Schwarzer did not feature.
