"The Australian player has reached an agreement with Dinamo Moscow and steps over to that club immediately," read a brief statement on club website, www.fctwente.nl.
The 26-year-old, who also played for English club Middlesbrough, agreed to a deal until the end of 2011.
Wilkshire has collected 27 caps with Australia's national side and played 37 matches for Twente, scoring three goals.
He will be the first Australian to play in the Russian league.
