MELBOURNE Victory captain Kevin Muscat has urged all fans attending the Telstra Dome on Saturday night to get there early to see the club's W-League team play.

While most eyes will be on the top of the table clash between Melbourne and Sydney FC, the new W-League season kicks off this weekend, with Victory taking on Central Coast Mariners in the curtain raiser to the main game.
The men's match commences at 7:00pm (AEST), but Muscat wants all Victory fans to get to the ground early to support the women.
"The number of girls or women that play the game in this country is growing and we have always maintained we are family club," Muscat said.
"The girls will be playing before our game on Saturday evening so I will be getting down there pretty early to have a look and I would urge all our supporters to do the same."
The women's team is the newest addition to the Melbourne Victory family, with the club's youth side already four matches into its season.
Muscat said the two new teams have been great for the club and he is looking forward to seeing them both in action.
"We have always preached that Melbourne Victory is a family club and the family has just got bigger," he said.
"The youth team has played four or five games already and they are travelling along okay and now we have got the ladies come on board.
"It is great for the football club."
