No.1 A-League Moment Revealed
AS SOON as the full-time whistle blew, it was immediately dubbed the best A-League game ever. Now you have voted it your favourite A-League moment ever too.
Sydney's see-sawing marathon 5-4 win over Central Coast Mariners last season was the winner in our exclusive survey of the best moments in A-League history.
It garnered 18 percent of the poll and just edged out Archie Thompson's five goal haul for Melbourne Victory in the season two Grand Final by a mere two percent.
In third place was Nick Carle's epic solo goal for Newcastle Jets against Adelaide United in 2006, possibly the greatest in the competition's history.
It collected 13 percent of the votes but at one stage, midway through polling, just two votes separated it from first place until Sydney's match stretched its lead.
Finally, Newcastle Jets' fans breathtaking tifo at last year's Grand Final - unveiling a massive Jets flag - made it into fourth place with 11 percent of the vote.
Votes were shared almost equally between all the other options, including Steve Corica's goal in the first Grand Final, Zullo's debut goal for Roar, the Victory fans in stereo against NZ Knights and Mark Bosnich's penalty save on debut for the Mariners.
