NICK Carle admits his club axing has been a difficult experience and he's desperate to force his way back in and face former side Bristol City in the Championship this weekend.

After a bright start at Crystal Palace, the Australian has found himself on the bench in recent weeks, losing his spot to John Oster.

Carle, who has also dropped out of the Socceroos squad for the time being, told the Croydon Advertiser: "It’s always difficult when you lose your place, but John Oster has come in and done really well, so it’s about me working as hard as I can to get back in the team.

“These things happen in football, so it’s just about keeping professional, doing everything right and making sure I’m ready if I do get a chance.
You just have to continue to work hard and keep on your toes and if you do get given a chance make sure you take it.”

“It’s a big week for me because we are facing my old club at the weekend and I want to get my place back as soon as possible so I can play against them.”

Whether he plays or not, Carle revealed he would be happy to pass on some inside info on his former club but was also looking forward to meeting up with his ex Ashton Gate colleagues.

He said: "I’m more than happy to help the manager anyway I can, it’s all about us winning the game and getting three points because we really need it at the moment."
