David Beckham has touched down in New Zealand and claims he can’t wait to face Mark Bosnich and company as his LA Galaxy take on the Oceania All Stars this weekend. If you struggle to name many of Becks’ LA Galaxy team mates, you’ll be even more hard pressed to name the Oceania All Stars team. Only joking, former Middleborough midfielder Christian Karembeu is playing too. Wow (insert sarcastic tone).

Elsewhere, in a less surprising football development than John Kosmina blowing his stack at a press conference, Ronaldo won the 2008 Ballon d'Or while Mark Viduka is back and hungry for goals this weekend.
