This week the Socceroos returned from Japan with a precious point towards qualifying for the 2010 World Cup. Considering the game started without a single recognised striker on the pitch for Australia, the goalless stalemate was no surprise. The bigger surprise was some of our online readers criticising our negative approach to the game. Sure, we didn’t go there with an attacking mentality, but while we sit top of the table, undefeated and without conceding a goal, no complaints can really be made.
Elsewhere, FFA will donate $100,000 to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal in support of communities affected by the devastating bushfires in Victoria and Graham Arnold has agreed to talk with FourFourTwo about the Olympic aftermath and how we can continue to improve young footballers in this country.
