In Queensland, the nails have been sharpened and handbags are swinging, as North Queensland Fury and Gold Coast feuded over their on-off pre-season friendly. The last 24 hours have seen the two clubs involved in a heated exchange over Gold Coast's decision to pull out of a friendly in Cairns. The game is back on (in the Gold Coast now), but get online to read Fury’s Fury and Clive Palmer’s amazing reply, which included the billionaire’s concerns over flight costs, questioning Fury’s quality and lambasting FFA’s early season fixture schedule.
Elsewhere, Australia are back in FIFA's top 30 and Socceroos striker Scott McDonald is keen to end an 'ongoing saga' and finally break his scoring drought for the Green and Gold.
