Your Week in Football

With Manchester United chasing a 19th top flight league title (which would see them surpass fierce rivals Liverpool by one championship) what a surprise it was to see Stevie Gerrard, a man so Scouse he probably sleeps in an 80s shell suit, assist Drogba for the opener which virtually sealed the title for Chelsea. "Our Stevie G wouldn't do that" the fans proclaimed of a man almost certain to jump the sinking ship that is HMS Liverpool in the summer (especially if you're someone who subscribes to the scandalous rumours about to be exposed). Except he makes a habit of howling match-deciding pass-backs against United's rivals, as this acute through ball for Theirry Henry in 2006 proves. Great idea, Stevie. For your next trick you should consider setting up some Liverpool goals.

Wins for both Manchester City and Tottenham means that Thursday morning will see the two face-off in the 'alternative Champions League final'. Wild horses, Bieber Fever or a debilitating disease that you can only catch in the depths of the Amazon rainforest should be the only reasons you don't watch these two evenly matched teams with two very different looking managers do battle.
