Your Week in Football

You have to wonder how well the FFA believe they are doing? There is little doubt the game has made giant strides in Australia, but in his first in-depth interview since the 2022 World Cup bid failure, FFA chairman Frank Lowy believes they deserve a nine out of 10 if, and it is a very big if, they can get the A-League right.
Sticking with the FFA and in the wake of the controversial results of the FourFourTwo readers' survey, which can be viewed in the current issue of the magazine, new Head of Communications and Corporate Affairs Kyle Patterson has responded to the findings which shone a less than complementary light on the FFA performance.
Elsewhere, there is talk that Marco Flores could get even better (!), Bolton target Rhys Williams admits it'd be a 'dream' to play in the English Premier League and Socceroo Alex Brosque scored his first goal for new club Shimizu S-Pulse (includes complete rundown of Aussies overseas).
In Europe and Manchester United have moved to within a point of a record 19th title as they beat rivals Chelsea overnight, while AC Milan ended Inter's Serie A dominance by sealing the Scudetto. In Spain, Barcelona are on the brink of a third successive Primera Division title as they beat Espanyol, while Real's Ronaldo destroyed a woeful Sevilla side.
A final mention goes to two competitions we are currently running: one where you can win dinner with Socceroo coach Holger Osieck on his table at the Johnny Warren Football Foundation Gala Dinner and a second comp where you can win a spot at one of Celtic FC's Sydney training seminars. Good luck!
